About Wager Reporter
Independent journalism on the business, policy and future of sports betting and casinos.
Who we are
Wager Reporter is an independent news site operated by its editorial team. We report on the operators, regulators and markets behind sports betting and casinos, and explain what their decisions mean for the industry and its customers.
Articles are credited to the Wager Reporter Newsroom rather than to individual bylines.
What we cover

- Business — Earnings, mergers, investment and corporate strategy at betting and casino companies and their suppliers.
- Policy — Gambling legislation, licensing rules, tax and enforcement decisions from lawmakers and regulators.
- Responsible Gambling — Player protection, safer-play tools, self-exclusion schemes, advertising limits and research on gambling harm.
- Analysis — Explainers and longer analysis of the trends, data and forces reshaping betting and casino gaming.
- Profiles — Close looks at gambling companies, venues, regulators and products: how they work and where they are heading.
How our reporting is made
Our articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, working from public sources that we cite at the end of every story. Before publication, each draft is checked automatically against those sources — names, figures, dates and quotations have to be traceable to them.
No checking process is perfect. When something is wrong, we fix it and mark the article as updated.
The details are in our editorial policy.
What we do not do
- We do not publish betting tips, odds advice or rankings of casinos, bookmakers or bonuses.
- We do not promote gambling, and nothing on this site is aimed at anyone under 18.
- We do not mix paid content with reporting: sponsored posts are labelled “Sponsored” (see Write for us).
